Introducing David

David A. Ison has built his practice on one guiding belief: we solve problems for our clients. For more than forty years, he has helped individuals and businesses secure stability, protect their assets, and plan for the future with clarity and confidence. Clients appreciate his practical approach, sound judgment, and commitment to providing solutions that align with their goals.

Dave is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Labor and Human Resources in 1980, and Capital University Law School, where he earned his J.D. in 1983. He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio and all federal courts in Ohio, including the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. After years of litigation experience, he shifted his focus to personal and business planning so he could spend more time helping clients build long-term security rather than resolving disputes after the fact.

One of the firm’s greatest sources of pride is the strong relationship Dave has built with the community. The largest referral source for Ison Law is its clients, a reflection of the trust they place in their work. Dave also values the moments when clients share their relief and gratitude after completing an estate or business plan, knowing they have taken meaningful steps to protect their families or companies.

Outside the office, Dave enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Julie, have been married for more than forty years and raised four children in Powell, Ohio. They love spending time with their grandchildren and relaxing at home with their dogs.
